System Racism TIEAC | Practicing With the Rubric

Objective: Jedis will be able to peer grade the System Racism in Miles Morales TIEAC, using the highlight and checklist technique to provide evidentiary support for their grade.

Agenda:
1. Meditation & Journal
2. Review our  evidence-based TIEAC rubric and where to find rubrics, as needed, on our website.
3. Model Peer-grading with TIEAC rubric

  • Highlight the following on their paper
    • Topic/Claim: Purple Underline
    • Evidence in the form of a quote: Pink
    • Analysis: Pink underline
    • Defined Nouns: Green
    • Vocabulary: Orange
  • Use the checklist to choose which point box the student's work earns in each category
    • Note: a 4 must have ALL boxes checked, otherwise it is a 3.
      • If you are split between three boxes, choose the middle.
  • Add up all boxes for a total possible points of 25.
4. Every assignment must be self-grade and peer-grade, and then Ms. Kelly will review the body of evidence to determine whether she agrees with the grade that you and your peers have assessed. If she agrees, she will not change the peer grade. If she disagrees, the revised grade will be show in the final grade area of the rubric.

5. If you do not like your grade, you may rewrite it. You must submit the 3rd version online to TurnItIn.com, self grade and peer grade your paper-- and then you may resubmit for a new grade.
