Wonder Woman and & Captain America | Annotating and Summarizing

Objective: Jedis will be able to annotate three articles using the Jedi Bookmark, write the main idea, and a summary of each article. Jedis will be able to create 10 vocabulary index cards using the
Vocabulary list.

  • Blank Side: 
    • Word or Phrase
    • Draw: an image or symbol of what the word or phrase means
    • Ex: a real life example of this word or phrase.
  • Lined Side: 

3. Three Events that Shaped Comic Books | This will be due at the end of class for period 5, 6, and 7.

  • Annotate the article using your Jedi Bookmark
  • Write a single 25 word sentence explaining the main idea for each section
  • Write a 5 sentence summary of the entire article
    • Hint: Create an intro sentence, use your main ideas from each section, then create a conclusion sentence).

Homework:
1. Read 30 (If you have Ms. Haislip, starting next week, your logs must be signed by her)
2. Turn in your typed Name Poem/Story to Turnitin.com as a test assignment to make sure you know how to use the site. You do not need to retype it. If you haven't typed it yet, for shame-- do it this weekend and turn it in on TurnItIn.com.
3. Wonder Woman & Captain America:

  • Annotate both articles using your Jedi Bookmark
  • Write a single 25 word sentence explaining the main idea of each article
  • Hand write a draft summary of each article. 
  • Type and Submit:
    • Use the template found by:

      • opening Standard MLA Format Template (Most Assignments). 
      • Make a copy and rename: # Last Name, First Name | Wonder Woman & Captain America Summaries 
      • Edit the heading accordingly
      • Type up a 2 paragraph summary that includes both Wonder Woman and Captain America. 
        • (For period 2, 3, and 4 -- add your 3 events summary to the beginning so you end up with 3 paragraphs)
      • Submit on Turnitin.com

4. Flashcards-- finish whatever you did not complete in class. # 71, 76. 82. 84. and 98.
